MOT View: Leeds announce phenomenal sale numbers to prove how amazing fans are
As the Championship restart gathers pace, Leeds United and other clubs are looking at ways to get their fans involved.
Obviously, fans aren’t allowed to be at the games, something that could affect Leeds in their bid for promotion to the Premier League.
The Whites restart their campaign with a trip to Cardiff on Sunday afternoon, with five home games still to play at Elland Road.
Leeds have been giving fans the chance to purchase a cardboard cut-out of themselves to be placed in Elland Road for these games.
It was confirmed on Sunday that the Whites have sold over 15,000 Crowdies, phenomenal numbers but nothing more than we expected.
Those numbers only add to the argument that Leeds have some of the best fans in the country, despite being outside of the Premier League.
An important campaign has been started recently alongside this. The LUFC Trust have got famous faces such as Vinnie Jones on their side to ask fans to stay away from Elland Road.
We clearly back this campaign, and it is important that fans stay away from the behind-closed-doors games for Marcelo Bielsa’s men to set out on their quest for promotion.
Every game is being streamed on the club’s iFollow service as well as Sky Sports broadcasting fixtures, so there are no excuses for fans to be around the grounds.
These Crowdies could help support the campaign as well, as it gives the fans to be at grounds without the added risk of COVID-19.
In other Leeds United news, this senior Cardiff player has been ruled out of the clash on Sunday afternoon
