MOT View: Leeds attacker may have played last game for club after Sky Sports report
Sky Sports have reported that Leeds United loanee Jack Clarke is going to be recalled by new Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho.
In a report posted on Friday evening, Sky claim that Mourinho wants to watch him in training before deciding whether he should stay with the Spurs first-team squad or go out on loan again.
Clarke hasn’t had more than a sniff of action under Marcelo Bielsa this season, but he’s looked back to his best in recent outings with the Under-23s.
Bielsa doesn’t like change in his side and there’s just no way back for him at Elland Road.
That’s a shame but it’s time to cut the ties and go our separate ways.
The interesting thing about the Sky report is that it says Mourinho is considering him for the Tottenham first team.
That should give Clarke a much-needed boost after his confidence must have been knocked this season.
It means that Clarke might only be around for three more games – Fulham, Preston on Boxing Day and Birmingham on December 29.
If Tottenham trigger the recall immediately, Clarke will be gone by the time Leeds play West Brom on New Year’s Day.
Clarke played for the Under-23s on Friday and it’s highly likely that he’s played his last game for the Leeds first team.
Certainly, if he’s dropped from tomorrow’s squad it will signify the end for a player who promised so much but ultimately only earned Leeds a big payday.
We wish him all the luck in the world at Tottenham and hope we’ll meet again in the Premier League.
