MOT View: Crocked Leeds star could return this season after Coronavirus suspension

The English Football League and Premier League are all on pause as we stand, something that has put a halt to Leeds United and their promotion push this season.

As it stands, there are no plans to postpone the action all together, and it could return as early as April.

There are suggestions that it could last longer than that though, and EURO 2020 could be cancelled in order for all leagues to finish over the summer.

That would mean that players such as Adam Forshaw, who has been ruled out for the season could actually return to have an impact on the final nine games if they are played.

The Whites midfielder underwent surgery on a hip injury and has been on crutches – something that has stopped him from training.

It was a procedure that could have been done since September when Forshaw first picked up the problem in the 2-0 victory against Barnsley at Oakwell.

Rob Price gave us his opinion before the surgery, and at that point, it seemed to look positive – something which took a quick twist.

With the potential of the Championship being postponed past April, there is also a possibility that Forshaw could be back in action before the season actually ends.

That would strengthen Leeds significantly in midfield, an area that has been lacking especially with Kalvin Phillips also struggling with a problem.

Forshaw started the season superbly as well and would add a new dimension in midfield. Only Patrick Bamford and Pablo Hernandez have averaged more shots on goal than the 28-year-old, as Marcelo Bielsa pushed the midfield man further forward [WhoScored].

It will be a tall order for Forshaw to return to action at any point this season, but with no clear update on the Coronavirus, it is certainly possible.
