MOT View: Bielsa forced into key switch, Poveda involved – Leeds predicted XI v Millwall
Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa will be forced into making a key change when the Whites welcome Millwall to Elland Road on Tuesday.
Kalvin Phillips starts his three-match ban for his sending off at Queens Park Rangers last time out, and there are a number of different options to replace him.
Phil Hay has recently delivered an update on the fitness of Adam Forshaw, and although he will miss Tuesday’s game, there are slight hopes that he could potentially feature against the likes of Wigan or Nottingham Forest.
New signing Ian Poveda is expected to make the bench, with both Jack Harrison and Helder Costa most likely keeping the spots they have both cemented in the side in recent months.
Kiko Casilla will keep his spot in goal, after making a couple of good saves at Loftus Road. There was nothing he could have done about Nakhi Wells’ opener in the defeat.
With 10 days rest because of the FA Cup, Stuart Dallas should keep his spot alongside the familiar faces of Liam Cooper and Luke Ayling in defence.
Here comes the interesting part. Ben White is expected to push forward into midfield, meaning Gaetano Berardi will come into the back four in the only change for the clash.
With limited options in the heart of the side, Pablo Hernandez and Mateusz Klich will sit in behind Patrick Bamford.
Bamford had another shocker at QPR, but with a move for RB Leipzig forward Jean-Kevin Augustin needing to be completed before noon on Monday for him to feature, he should keep his place.
Augustin is reportedly undergoing his medical on Monday. If that is the case, he should be in the stands at Elland Road to take in the action on Tuesday – no pressure for Bamford.
