‘Mateo Joseph finished at Leeds United’ as bid ready away from Elland Road
Mateo Joseph can begin to pack his bags at Leeds United despite promotion to the Premier League being achieved.
The Spaniard looked destined to play a key role this season, but often found himself playing second fiddle to top scorer Joel Piroe.
This has seen the 21-year-old’s importance dwindle under Daniel Farke, and that could be set to get worse again moving into the new campaign.
This is especially going to be the case as new deals are eyed at Elland Road, which could cause trouble for Joseph in the squad.

Joseph could be done at Leeds United
There was so much expectation surrounding the Spain under-21 international moving into the season that he’s failed to live up to.
Scoring just three Championship goals isn’t necessarily good enough for a player who has netted five for his country on the international stage.

As a result, Farke may have concerns with the striker moving into the new campaign in the Premier League, where standards take a step up.
With that being said, new options are being considered by the Whites with Besiktas starlet Semih Kilicsoy linked with a switch to LS11.
Leeds are said to be preparing an official bid for the 19-year-old with a delegation set to travel for talks in Istanbul in the coming weeks [Yeni Asir, 7 May].
Given how highly rated the young forward is in the Super Lig and beyond, there is every chance he will be given first-team assurances to move to Yorkshire.
This would likely spell bad news for Joseph, who may already face an unsure future already with promotion and a league title secured.

Kilicsoy could transform Leeds United
Being promoted to the top tier has been a poison chalice for many clubs in recent years, but Leeds will be hoping for a different story.
This could be replicated with signings like Raphinha from their last promotion, which ultimately helped to keep the Whites in the division.
It could be a similar story with Kilicsoy, given how many high-level clubs have already shown an interest in his signature in recent times.
This could provide perfect competition for Piroe and also represent trouble for Joseph, who may benefit from a move away or even a loan switch.
