Mateo Joseph looks finished at Leeds United after latest transfer update
Leeds United have been linked with a move for Mergim Berisha and it could spell the end of the road for Mateo Joseph, who has struggled for minutes recently.
Daniel Farke’s side still occupy the summit of the Championship but Joseph has certainly not contributed to that, having started just one of the last six encounters, failing to register a goal contribution since mid-October.
That lack of contribution looks only likely to worsen following links to Hoffenheim striker Berisha [Daily Mail], with questions to be asked regarding Joseph’s future at Elland Road.
Given his already lack of involvement, the addition of Berisha would push him even further down the pecking order, which has seen him register just 128 minutes of football in the last six games.
Mateo Joseph worthy of a second chance at Leeds United?
Joseph is a frustrating player because on several occasions this season, his quality has been on show and you often get the feeling it’s going to be the turning point in the season. But then he’s either dropped or fails to replicate those performances.
However, the lack of game time in recent weeks showcases how Farke feels about how he contributes to the team and if Berisha does in fact sign, it’s hard to see any inclusion at all for the Spaniard.

If Leeds are to achieve promotion, its going to be squad effort and any doubts over Joseph’s ability to contribute to that are more than justified given the fact he has just five goal contributions in 26 appearances, although many of those have seen him limited to just a handful of minutes.
His future at the club is certainly a situation worth considering as the transfer window rumours continue to swirl.
In other Leeds United news, this player is surely on his way out after what his teammates did against Hull.
