Match of the Day show massive disrespect to Leeds United after Manchester United draw

Leeds United were good value for their draw against Manchester United on Sunday.

Leeds and Man United shared the points at Elland Road as Matheus Cunha quickly cancelled out Brenden Aaronson’s opener.

The equaliser was hugely frustrating as Leeds switched off after Aaronson scored to allow the Brazilian in to equalise far too easily.

Daniel Farke was frustrated against United, but will be generally happy with his side’s performance after making it seven unbeaten in the Premier League.

Any positivity surrounding Farke’s side hasn’t translated well into the media, with the Whites shown very little respect on the latest edition of Match of the Day.

Leeds hardly spoken about after Manchester United draw

The atmosphere surrounding Leeds is seriously helping them in their mission to avoid relegation back to the Championship this season.

There is daylight between themselves and the relegation zone, with eight points separating them from West Ham.

That in itself should be enough for the media to be buzzing around West Yorkshire and piling praise on the Whites.

Unsurprisingly to many, Match of the Day instead opted to discuss the failings of Manchester United before gushing over Cunha in their post-match analysis from LS11.

It was a mostly even encounter at Elland Road, but Leeds were afforded just 30 words from Shay Given, although his input was very general as opposed to being relevant to the draw.

He said: “He was under pressure, Daniel Farke, and they trusted him and stuck by him. It’s seven unbeaten, eight points clear of the drop zone, and he’s doing a great job.

Leeds United will benefit from Premier League disrespect

Many supporters in LS11 may want to hear more positivity from the wider footballing world about their side, but there are benefits to going under the radar.

Right now, the Whites are one of the form sides in the entire Premier League and are quietly floating away from the threat of relegation.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is evidence of how playing with freedom can benefit form, something which looks to have been taken on by many at Elland Road.

The lack of talk could prove to be exactly what Farke needs to maintain high standards within his squad without the pressure of a basement battle.
