Marco Silva shares Harry Wilson contract update as Leeds United eye summer deal
Harry Wilson has been heavily linked with a move to Leeds.
The Whites made a very late attempt in the summer transfer window to bring Wilson to Elland Road, though that deal failed to materialise and the interest carried through until the winter.
With the Wales international out of contract at the end of the season, several clubs made attempts to sign him in January, but the Cottagers rebuffed all offers, and given his importance, that came as little surprise.
However, plenty of interest remains in the winger, with a new update on his future at Fulham emerging over the weekend.
What has Marco Silva said about Harry Wilson?
Most of the focus at Fulham is on the future of Marco Silva, whose contract expires at the end of the campaign, just like Wilson’s.
Both of them are instrumental at Craven Cottage, with Wilson having scored eight goals and registered five assists in the Premier League.
However, Silva has since confirmed that Fulham are preparing new contract talks for those whose current deals are set to expire in the summer.

As per Sky Sports, he said: “This week again we had a meeting, we are always preparing our first conversations about me and my staff and some players at the end of their contracts. It is not just about me.”
In terms of what that means for Leeds, a new deal for Wilson would almost certainly rule out the chances of a summer transfer.
Do Leeds really need to sign Wilson?
Wilson is a special player, and he would offer a lot to any Premier League side.
But his impact in a team that plays without wingers would be subdued, and that is the situation he would likely face at Leeds.
Daniel Farke has utilised a back five with wing-backs for the most part of the current campaign, meaning Wilson would likely have to adopt a 10 role in the current system.
His impact there would still be noticeable, but perhaps not enough to warrant a big fee in the summer if he were to sign a new deal.
On a free, however, it would still represent a huge opportunity that they would be silly to pass up on for several reasons.
