Manor Solomon could return to Leeds in weeks after latest developments from Villarreal

Manor Solomon could become a Leeds player once more this January.

Leeds are three points clear of the relegation zone heading into this weekend’s game against Crystal Palace, which is a good place to be.

However, Daniel Farke will want to steer his side further clear of the drop zone, and their ability to do so will be determined by what they can do in January.

The Whites have already been linked with several incoming transfers, but Leeds may look to revisit a deal for Solomon as one of them.

Villarreal spell has been a nightmare for Solomon

Solomon was outstanding for Leeds in the Championship, and it seemed as though her would eb the first player through the door upon their promotion back to the Premier League.

That never happened, and instead, the Spurs winger joined Villarreal on loan until the end of the season, where he has since faltered.

The 26-year-old has started just once in the league for the Spanish outfit, having played just 146 minutes of La Liga football.

Added to that, Solomon has started just one of their last nine games in all competitions, with fans starting to wonder what he offers.

There’s a chance his loan gets cut short in January, and if so, Leeds simply need to bring him back to Elland Road.

What did Farke say about Solomon this summer?

There’s no doubting that Solomon played a key role in Leeds’ promotion, and his numbers back that up.

In 39 Championship appearances, he managed 10 goals and 13 assists, which was more than any other player in the squad.

When his return never happened, it shocked many, including Farke to some extent, who hailed the impact he had in the second tier.

“Offensive-wise, if we are really honest, we have lost one of our main threats of the offence with Manor Solomon,” Farke said in pre-season, prior to the arrival of Noah Okafor.

Now could be his chance to bring that attacking threat back to Elland Road, and it would be a move that would make sense for all parties.
