Manor Solomon could be handed Leeds United gift after latest injury update
Manor Solomon surely has the perfect opportunity to nail down his spot in the Leeds Unuted starting XI after what happened to Willy Gnonto on Thursday.
The Italian forward was seen screaming in pain in the Italy U21s 7-0 win against San Marino [5 August], leading to his half-time substitution.
Gnonto has started all four of the Whites’ Championship fixtures this season and looked undroppable ahead of the international break.
Now, Leeds face an anxious wait to learn the extent of his injury, giving Solomon the chance to really cement himself after earning a first start before the international break.
Manor Solomon must take Leeds United chance
The 25-year-old started alongside Gnonto in the 2-0 win against Hull City with Daniel James absent through injury but that doesn’t guarantee a starting place for the winger moving forward.
Once James returns to the side, there could be an open spot on the opposite flank to fill the void of Gnonto and competition will be fierce alongside fellow summer signing Largie Ramazani.
It is advantage to the Israeli so far with his inclusion against Hull, the Tottenham loanee was excellent, assisting Mateo Joseph for the opening goal and he will certainly be in the back of Farke’s mind for his next team selection.

However, Ramazani is a permanent Leeds player and, that could become a factor in the coming weeks with supporters more inclined to want the Belgian to get minutes ahead of a player that could return to North London at the end of the season.
Leeds are in a blessed position with many quality attacking options waiting to fill the void of one of their star performers in Gnonto, despite the departures of Crysencio Summerville and Georgino Rutter this summer.
Solomon will certainly use his performance to argue his case for the Whites, it goes without saying that regardless of ownership, Farke should select the players that are more likely to make an impact on any given game.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have been branded ‘rubbish’ over the Gustavo Hamer transfer controversy.
