Man United to be laughing stock of Premier League as Leeds United flop Weston McKennie linked
Leeds United will be hoping that their summer clearout at Elland Road will be vindicated with promotion to the Premier League this season after a mass exodus under Daniel Farke.
Following relegation from the Premier League, the Whites were forced to sell or loan out several of their players as a number of stars pushed for moves away including Tyler Adams, Luis Sinisterra and Max Wober.
One man who quickly left Leeds as they dropped into the Championship was Weston McKennie, who returned to Juventus after a bleak loan spell in Yorkshire which saw him play 20 games without scoring or assisting.
Few supporters were keen to see the American international extend his stay at Elland Road beyond the end of the season, but Farke’s side could be set for a reunion with the 25-year-old if they win promotion to the Premier League.
Reports from GiveMeSport on Thursday (14 March) suggest that Manchester United could offer McKennie a route back to the Premier League having been identified as a midfield target for the Red Devils this summer.
Will Leeds United get a Weston McKennie reunion after Manchester United transfer?
While last season was bleak for Leeds United supporters, McKennie was one of the worst performers in a bad bunch of players and it seems remarkable that he could be set for another Premier League move following his debut season in England.
In his first season of senior football, Archie Gray has managed to be more impressive for the Whites this season than McKennie ever was at Elland Road. The teenager may be playing in the Championship, but he shows more promise than the Juventus loanee ever did.

Should Manchester United decide to act upon their interest this summer, they will be the laughing stock of the Premier League as once again, the Red Devils will be signing a player who is simply not cut out for the English game.
As Farke’s side closes in on a return to the Premier League, they will be hoping that Erik ten Hag does bring the 25-year-old to Old Trafford as it will boost their chances of picking up a good result next season.
