Leeds United’s lost summer target to trouble Elland Road after remarkable Crystal Palace scenes
Leeds United may have missed a big chance to sign Christantus Uche in the summer transfer window.
Leeds host Crystal Palace at Elland Road on Saturday in what is bound to be another noisy game at LS11.
Daniel Farke is still trying to keep his Leeds job, as well as wanting to steer the Whites clear of the relegation zone, with Leeds currently sitting 17th in the Premier League.
Uche was linked with a £13million move to Leeds in August, but the young striker made a move to Crystal Palace instead.
But Farke will surely be fearing the prospect of the 22-year-old scoring at Elland Road after all, given his recent screamer for the Eagles.
Christantus Uche’s goal does the rounds on social media
Even though Leeds will have scouted Uche, the forward remains a fairly unknown entity as a Crystal Palace player.
The Nigerian has only started on two occasions for Oliver Glasner and will be relishing the opportunity to show Farke what he missed out on.
- Appearances: 12
- Goals: 1
- Combined minutes: 282
Crystal Palace played Finnish side KuPS in the Europa Conference League on Thursday, and were held to a 2-2 draw at Selhurst Park.
However, Uche’s goal stole the headlines and caught the attention of the footballing world.
A fantastic piece of skill opened up space for the striker to unleash a curling ‘trivela’ effort, which nestled in the top corner, leaving Palace fans in awe.
The video has amassed over 300,000 views with multiple outlets sharing the goal.

Leeds won’t rue Uche signing due to Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s form
Uche will certainly be a problem for the Whites this weekend, and Farke may have a hard time giving instructions to his defenders on how to mark the striker, given the lack of available data.
Leeds won’t be too hurt over the missed opportunity with Uche due to Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s recent goal-scoring form.
The clash could be a true showcase of who got the better deal, considering the Whites paid nothing for Calvert-Lewin.
But at the end of the day, three points is all that most from a Leeds perspective care about, and Farke needs to deploy a top game plan to take down Palace.
