Leeds United Willy Gnonto transfer hint with away kit promotional video

Leeds United ace Willy Gnonto has been linked with an Elland Road exit over the last two seasons the club have found themselves in the Championship.

Last season, the Italy international even went as far as handing in a transfer request in order to try and force his way out of the club.

This didn’t ever come to fruition and the attacker ended up staying with Leeds for the entirety of the 2023/24 season.

He played a regular role for Daniel Farke in the second half of last term and even managed to contribute to a total of 12 goals across all competitions for the Whites.

This form resulted in Everton once again showing an interest in the attacker with former White midfielder David Norris even telling Leeds to cash in on the 20-year-old this summer.

However, in their recent promotional video for their new away kit that was posted on X (24 July), Gnonto has somewhat surprisingly made an appearance.

Wilfried Gnonto Leeds United future still in the balance this summer

It seemed near-guaranteed that the Whites would be seeing the attacker exit Elland Road this summer.

His inclusion in the promotional video for Leeds’ new away kit has, however, now thrown a spanner in the works and could perhaps make fans question whether his future could lie with Daniel Farke’s side.

If he were to stay, it would be a major boost for the club and would bolster their chances of gaining Premier League promotion.

Especially if they manage to keep the likes of exit-linked Crysencio Summerville at the club as well.

Although nothing is set in stone yet, should the Whites be able to keep the vast majority of their star players such as the aforementioned two, there’s no reason why they wouldn’t be able to win the second tier next term.

In other Leeds news, the Whites are set to face competition for the transfer of Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.
