Leeds United will have to wait for Marcelo Bielsa reunion after latest admission
Leeds United fans will welcome Marcelo Bielsa back with open arms as Daniel Farke risks being sacked sooner rather than later.
The Whites find themselves one point above the relegation zone, as Elland Road hosts Aston Villa in the Premier League on 23 November.
While 49ers Enterprises don’t seem to have any intentions of replacing Farke right now, things could potentially change in the coming weeks as the German manager faces a tough set of fixtures.
After Unai Emery’s trip to West Yorkshire, the Peacocks face Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool back-to-back in the league.

Marcelo Bielsa ready to stay at Uruguay
Bielsa’s future with Uruguay has come under speculation recently, but the Argentine manager seems to be content with his position in the South American team’s dugout.
The 70-year-old head coach has had conversations with La Celeste’s president, Ignacio Alonso, and sporting director, Jorge Giordano, about staying until the 2026 World Cup after losing 5-1 to the United States on 19 November.
While the Elland Road faithful may be hoping for Bielsa’s return amid uncertainty around Farke’s future, it doesn’t look like it can happen anytime soon.
Speaking to the media via journalist Rodrigo Romano, the former Whites boss said: “I have the strength to keep going. If at any moment I thought about resigning, it wasn’t now. I spoke with Alonso and Giordano right after the match with the USA ended, and the conclusion I drew is that this project continues until the World Cup. That’s how that conversation ended.”
It will be interesting to see how the German manager’s situation at the West Yorkshire outfit will unfold as failure to be out of the relegation by the turn of the year may be detrimental for him.
Marcelo Bielsa record at Leeds United
Bielsa struck a massive bond with the Elland Road faithful, having helped the Whites to Premier League promotion in 2020 after a 16-year absence.
Leeds were one of the most exciting teams to watch in the English top flight under the Argentine manager, with his famous murderball leading them to a ninth-place finish in the 2020-21 season.
| Matches | Wins | Draws | Losses |
| 170 | 81 | 30 | 59 |
The West Yorkshire outfit subsequently seemed out of gas under Bielsa before he was eventually sacked in February 2022, something fans in LS11 surely still regret.
With the current Uruguay boss revolutionising the Whites during his spell at Elland Road, a return should never be ruled out.
