Leeds United v Sheffield United predicted XI – Illan Meslier to be dropped
Daniel Farke will be hoping his Leeds United side can return to winning ways when they take on Sheffield United at Elland Road on 18 October.
The German saw three points slipping away after Illan Meslier’s horrific error against Sunderland that made it 2-2.
With the international break not injuring anyone yet and Mateo Joseph expected to be fit, Farke does have a few options to choose from.
It’s also understood that Dan James and Manor Solomon would be available but they’re likely to be on the bench.
Illan Meslier needs to be dropped for the Leeds United v Sheffield United clash
One change that fans have been wanting for a while and which seems justified is getting in Karl Darlow for Meslier.
The Frenchman has made a number of errors in recent months and the one against Sunderland certainly was the cherry on the cake.
He does need some time away from the spotlight so it makes sense to drop him even though he’s been the first-choice keeper.
Apart from that, Jayden Bogle has had some erratic performances but undoubtedly is a better option than Sam Bryam.
Max Wober and Ethan Ampadu’s injuries mean there are no other alternatives at centre-back and Joe Rothwell is expected to retain his place in midfield given Ilia Gruev and Ampadu’s absence.

Joel Piroe has been scoring goals off the bench and started the Sunderland game so there’s no reason to drop him from the eleven.
In other Leeds United, an update has emerged on the club’s quest to finalise the Cheikhou Kouyate transfer.
