Leeds United twist emerges in race to sign Gonzalo Garcia
Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Garcia has been linked with a move to Leeds United.
Leeds are among the favourites for relegation this season, and the only way to change that will be to recruit smartly in the January transfer window.
Daniel Farke’s side have been woeful in attacking areas, making the addition of forward reinforcements a priority in the coming weeks.
Garcia has been linked with a move to Elland Road, with a new twist emerging in the race to seal the Spaniard’s signature.

Favourites to sign Gonzalo Garcia revealed
With Franculino also linked with a move to Elland Road, it’s clear that the Whites will be on the lookout for a new striker in the winter.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin‘s struggles in front of goal have made that fairly clear, though the Whites will have work to do if that man is to be Garcia.
Fichajes reported on Monday that Getafe are now at the front of the queue to land the loan signing of the Madrid forward, who has also been linked with several Premier League clubs.
A move to Getafe would allow the La Liga giants to keep a close eye on his development, with the Spaniard tipped for a big future.
Real Madrid will want Garcia to have guaranteed minutes, which may put Leeds ahead of other English clubs if they are to pursue a deal for the forward valued at £17.5million.
Leeds need a permanent solution to attacking concerns
Garcia would be a welcome addition at Elland Road, though given the likelihood of it being a short-term deal, it would still leave the Whites in need of another forward.
Otherwise, they will face the same scenario in the summer, especially if they are able to avoid the drop back into the Championship.
A deal for Franculino may make more sense in that regard, given the fact that it would be a permanent transfer with time to settle.
If Leeds are to pursue a loan arrival in January, the expectation will be that the player can hit the ground running, and, having played such a limited number of minutes this season, there will be concerns over Garcia’s ability to do that.
