Leeds United to work on Danilho Doekhi alternative after latest Elland Road transfer plans
Leeds United clearly want to bolster their defence as they keep an eye on Union Berlin defender Danilho Doekhi ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
The 27-year-old emerged as a target for the Whites midway through the season, with interest in the centre-back’s future at the end of the season, when his contract expires.
As things stand, Daniel Farke has Joe Rodon, Pascal Struijk, Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw as his four natural centre-back options.
James Justin can also play across the backline, but the West Yorkshire outfit have plans to reinforce their defence further if they survive Premier League relegation.

Daniel Farke wants left-footed defender at Leeds United
Leeds want to sign a left-footed defender for Farke next summer to provide cover for Pascal Struijk.
The Whites are planning to back the German manager with some quality signings in the coming months if they maintain their top-flight status at Elland Road.
49ers Enterprises are expected to likely invest heavily in a new goalkeeper and striker, but a defensive addition is also on their agenda.
The West Yorkshire outfit want someone capable of playing at centre-half and left-back, which would certainly rule out Doekhi as a primary target.
While the Dutch defender will be a free agent soon, he’s right-footed, which could potentially give the Peacocks an incentive to look elsewhere before committing their funds on him.
There’s no denying the quality the Union Berlin star possesses, but Farke clearly has different plans in LS11 for the summer.
Premier League champion prefect candidate at Elland Road
While there haven’t been any links between Manchester City defender Nathan Ake and Leeds, he seems like the perfect candidate for them.
The Premier League-winning versatile centre-back has often played as a left-back for Pep Guardiola and ticks the required boxes at Elland Road.
Ake can bring much-needed experience and quality to the West Yorkshire outfit’s backline, which will undoubtedly be pivotal for Farke to make progress further up the table next season.
The Netherlands international will enter the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season, and considering his diminished role in M11, he shouldn’t really cost much.
