Leeds United to seal Bamford exit in January, wages can fund replacement signing
Patrick Bamford has struggled to find any sort of rhythm since Daniel Farke arrived at Leeds United.
The 31-year-old has only managed to get 192 minutes under his belt, having suffered multiple injury setbacks while attempting to fight for a spot back on the bench.
He has fallen down the pecking order at Elland Road, with Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph preferred through the middle while the likes of Dan James, Wilfried Gnonto and Manor Solomon can also be trusted.
With the player taking home a £30,000-a-week wage [Football League Paper], it only makes sense for the Whites to get him off the books as soon as possible, which could be in January.
His exit from Elland Road, however emotional with the fanbase, could be the difference between automatic promotion and the play-off spots, especially if Leeds find a replacement.
Leeds United to replace Patrick Bamford with Dor Turgeman?
Bamford, who was once described by Marcelo Bielsa as “influential” [BBC Sport], leaving Yorkshire would not be easy, especially given his huge wage, but plenty of teams are lining up for his signature.
If Leeds can find a new home for the 31-year-old, the recent links to Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Dor Turgeman make a lot of sense, though it is understood to require a £4.1million transfer fee [Sport5].
The Israeli has notched nine goals and four assists in all competitions this season, seeing him boast a goal contribution every 102 minutes [Transfermarkt].

There is a clear lack of an outstanding goalscorer, such as Crysencio Summerville, or a magical playmaker, such as Georginio Rutter, and this needs to be addressed to secure promotion this term.
With Turgeman’s experience in Europe this season, he could be the perfect replacement for Bamford and a brilliant way to spend the funds freed up by the striker’s exit away from Elland Road.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have jumped to the front of the queue for an “outstanding” Premier League gem amid a new Red Bull development.
