Leeds United to make promotion statement with Josh Brownhill transfer

Leeds United could make a huge promotion statement if they are able to finalise a deal for Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill.

The Whites are one of several clubs to be linked with a move for Brownhill although they may struggle to conclude a deal after it was reported that he may opt against joining another Championship club (TBR Football).

Burnley are reportedly struggling to agree fresh terms with the midfielder and the prospect of him becoming a Leeds player would be a huge statement from the club.

Leeds United must attempt a deal for Josh Brownhill

While the report states that a Championship move is unlikely, the Whites have to make the necessary checks into a deal and if they did, it would boost their chances of promotion by some margin.

Brownhill is a player who knows the Championship as well as anyone, having made over 200 appearances in the second tier, earning promotion with the Clarets back in the 22/23 season.

Of course, he has also showcased ability at Premier League level and his experience and long list of attributes will be a huge boost to whichever team he finds himself at.

The Whites have several midfielders of the required standard but very few, if any at all, possess similar attributes to the 28-year-old who typically operates as a box-to box-midfielder.

Added to that, his ability to add goals from midfield is a massive asset and is something that Daniel Farke’s side haven’t been able to demonstrate consistently.

Burnley may cash in on the midfielder in January to avoid losing him on a free and Leeds simply have to ask the question.
