Leeds United star Raphinha should snub Barcelona and move to Chelsea

Leeds United winger Raphinha has been the subject of major transfer speculation in the entirety of this window as he prepares to leave Elland Road.

The Brazil international has been linked with a move to a number of clubs with Chelsea and Barcelona leading the chase.

It looked like the Blues were on the brink of signing the winger after agreeing on a fee with the Whites.

However, things have changed in the past few days as the Catalan club are now understood to be set to match the offer of the Blues, albeit in the form of instalments.

Leeds United currently have a Premier League status and they would undoubtedly say a huge thank you to Raphinha for that.

The Brazil international was arguably the only consistent attacking player in a disappointing season for the Whites.

In the 2021-22 season, Raphinha scored 11 goals and provided three assists in 35 Premier League appearances for Leeds [Transfermarkt].

The 25-year-old also averaged 2.5 shots, 1.9 key passes, and 1.8 dribbles per game in the Premier League last term [Whoscored].

Those numbers show why he is being monitored by some of the biggest names in Europe but since it is a World Cup year, where Raphinha will be competing with a number of players for a spot in the Brazil squad, it is important that he makes a wise decision and move to a club where he is more suited.

Looking at the clubs who are leading the race, it is important that he snub a club like Barcelona despite their history because as things stand, they are looking like a project where there are just too many question marks.

On the other hand, Chelsea also have question marks over their future but with the arrival of the new owner, who is ready to invest big money, Stamford Bridge will definitely going to be a better place for Raphinha.
