Leeds United star could cost Daniel Farke his job, he has to be dropped now
Leeds slumped to their fourth defeat of the season following their 2-0 loss to Burnley on Saturday.
Daniel Farke is facing immense sack pressure as Leeds have dropped to 15th in the Premier League after eight matches.
Despite dominating the ball and enjoying the lion’s share of the chances, Burnley punished two sloppy moments from the Leeds defence and ensured that Farke’s side were left to rue missed chances yet again at Turf Moor.
Leeds are among the favourites to be relegated, and one star’s displays have contributed to their recent poor results.

Brenden Aaronson disappoints once again for Leeds
Brenden Aaronson joined Leeds in 2022, yet he has failed to fulfil his full potential, having arrived with great promise from RB Salzburg.
The key moment at Turf Moor came when Aaronson was played through when one goal behind, yet his tame shot was pushed onto the post by Martin Dubravka.
Aaronson was slammed for his performance against Burnley, once again proving that he isn’t a Premier League-level player.
Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
2022-23 | 42 | 1 | 3 |
2023-24 (Union Berlin – loan) | 38 | 2 | 2 |
2024-25 | 47 | 9 | 2 |
2025-26 | 9 | 0 | 0 |
The 24-year-old played on the right wing, and whilst that isn’t his natural position, he squandered an easy chance that would have brought Leeds right back into the game.
As a result of injuries to Willy Gnonto, Noah Okafor, and Dan James, Aaronson has now started the last five Premier League games.
Aaronson was subbed off for James in the 66th minute, and with Okafor set to return for next week’s match against West Ham, it seems likely that he’ll be dropped instantly.
Farke has always had a soft spot for Aaronson, yet if he doesn’t drop the USA international, then fans will continue to grow frustrated, and it could cost him his job.

Aaronson’s poor performances have been magnified in the Premier League, and the recruitment team must take some of the blame.
Leeds paying the price for failure to sign one more attacker
It was clear to every Leeds fan that another attacker was required, with there being a lack of quality wingers and an abundance of injury-prone strikers.
Leeds nearly signed Harry Wilson on deadline day, showing that there was still a need for depth in the attacking positions.
As we’ve seen this season, Leeds are just one or two injuries from becoming completely toothless up front, with the Peacocks failing to score from open play in their first four matches.
Saturday’s result highlighted how desperate Leeds are for influential attackers, and with their regular starters returning, Farke must do the right thing and axe Aaronson from the starting line-up now.
