Leeds United should meet £21m price tag for Arnaud Kalimuendo

One of the key positions Leeds United need to sort out before the 2021-22 season starts is striker and they could very easily make it happen.

The Independent reported on 16 June that the Whites had seen a bid of £17million rejected for Paris Saint-Germain’s 20-year-old forward Arnaud Kalimuendo.

But after that answer, things cooled on Leeds’ side but they should very quickly reignite that fire to make the move happen because they are not far away from a deal at all.

According to L’Equipe, the French champions, who have just sacked former Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino, have put a price tag of £21million on the French youth international’s head which makes the Whites’ original bid not far away from the target price.

£4million is all it is and given how much we have been throwing the cash about this summer, we would be mental not to up our offer to meet their valuation and get into personal talks with the player.

He has spent the past two seasons on loan at RC Lens where he’s really come into his own in front of goal, scoring 21 goals in that time before returning to the Parc Des Princes.

Kalimuendo is the final piece of the puzzle we need to have a really strong side to select on the opening day of the season at Elland Road against Wolves if he could start alongside Patrick Bamford.

There is no need to hesitate and deliberate whether to pay that extra £4million because, by the time we’ve made up our mind, someone else will have gone and beaten us to the punch so come on Victor Orta, let’s get on with it.

In other Leeds United news, AC Milan hold the upper hand in the race to sign this young attacker as the club in question are keen on two Rossoneri youth stars.
