Leeds United should give Leif Davis his second chance in 21/22
Left-back is one of the areas where Leeds United are not particularly well off which could be a blessing for young Leif Davis.
Currently at Jesse Marsch’s disposal in that position, Junior Firpo leads the way but other than the Dominican, there is not much in the way of talent or depth which was very obvious last season when Davis was on loan at Bournemouth.
The 22-year-old earned promotion to the Premier League with the Cherries but is now back at Thorp Arch and making his claim to be involved in the Leeds United squad for the 2022-23 campaign.

Davis was one of the standout performers on Thursday evening as the Whites comfortably brushed Blackpool aside with a 4-0 win, as Beren Cross at Leeds Live suggests, which could have catapulted his chances of being the club’s starting left-back on the opening day of the season.
He is entering the final year of his contract at Elland Road which makes it all the more critical for him to be playing regularly and if he can do that in Yorkshire he will rapidly increase his chances of earning a new deal.
The East Anglian Daily Times, however, report that Davis is wanted by League One outfit Ipswich Town which would almost certainly spell the end of his Leeds United stay.

The last thing Davis needs right now is to be shipped away and forgotten about for the second successive season and especially when there is such a short supply of players in his position here.
He proved against Blackpool that he can fit in with Marsch’s Leeds team and hold his own and he has to be on the flight to Australia next week to continue that trajectory towards a revival.
In other Leeds United news, there will be one seat surprisingly empty on the plane down under as this player won’t return from holiday in time to fly.
