Leeds United seal Crysencio Summerville-like transfer for Manor Solomon
Leeds United have the ideal replacement for Crysencio Summerville this season in the form of on-loan Tottenham winger Manor Solomon.
Solomon arrived on a season-long deal from Spurs in the wake of Summerville’s £25million departure to West Ham United and has so far shown he’s capable of filling the vacated left-sided role.
The 25-year-old winger set up Mateo Joseph’s opening goal in the 2-0 win against Hull City and Sam Parkin believes he has similar qualities to the Championship Player of the Season.
Speaking on the What the EFL? podcast (10 September), former Ipswich Town striker Parkin said: “If you were going to replace Summerville with someone who maybe was already plying his trade in this country, Solomon was right up there.
“He has got that signature move that they lost from Summerville – that chopping in from the left-hand side and bending it.
Pressure on Leeds United to replace Crysencio Summerville
Losing Summerville to West Ham this summer has also seen Daniel Farke lose a player who provided double figures of goal involvements last season, achieving significant plaudits as a result.
Replacing such a massive output in attack was always likely to be a near-impossible struggle for the Whites, but Solomon’s strong start suggests that he could be the player that fits the bill most closely.

Starting against Hull just four days after arriving at the club on loan – and ahead of previous signing Largie Ramazani, too – Solomon is a player who has already made a big impression at Thorp Arch.
Captaining Israel during the international break will only further solidify his credentials as a player Farke can rely on this season, with no signs as yet that his well-documented injury woes will resurface.
The 25-year-old is unlikely to net 19 goals and add a further 11 assists in what’s left of the campaign, but as part of a balanced United side, Solomon can lead the Whites’ charge to Premier League promotion.
In other Leeds United news, Daniel Farke will be relieved after three of his key players came through the international break unscathed.
