Leeds United risk immediate relegation amid ‘priority’ transfer update

Leeds United will already have most of their focus on the upcoming summer transfer window, and they need to get it right.

Ahead of their clash with Plymouth Argyle, Leeds will have their immediate focus on winning the Championship and reaching 100 points for the season, though work is already underway in regard to planning for life back in the Premier League.

Recruitment will be key to success for Leeds, and if they are to avoid the fate of the three teams promoted before them, they need to get it right.

However, the latest update from Elland Road will do very little to subdue concerns of that happening.

Leeds identify transfer priority for summer window

Several players have already been linked with a move to Leeds in the coming months, with Troy Parrott the latest to be rumoured, though the update doesn’t paint the full picture.

As reported by TEAMtalk on 2 May, the signing of a forward is a “priority” for Leeds, and that in itself will be cause for concern.

If the Whites want to stay up, signing a replacement for Illan Meslier absolutely has to be the number one priority before any other consideration is made.

Aaron Ramsdale is one of the names to have been linked, and until that area of the squad is addressed, the risk of relegation stands firm.

Farke needs to be backed if Leeds stay goes on

As of right now, it remains unclear whether Leeds will sack Daniel Farke or not, but if they opt against that, they need to back him in the market.

Leeds have an excellent squad, as showcased by their success this season, but the gulf in quality between the Championship and the Premier League is massive, and without investment and planning, the Whites stand next to no chance of survival.

The next few weeks and months will be crucial for Leeds as they look to cement their status as a Premier League club for the long term.
