Leeds United regret escalates amid latest Igor Paixao developments
Leeds United dropped a clanger with Igor Paixao in the summer, and it is becoming increasingly obvious.
The Premier League is unforgiving, and that is why Leeds were required to do as much business as they did in the summer.
A total of 10 new arrivals checked in at Elland Road, several of whom are impressing, but Paixao was not one of them.
Instead, the Brazilian winger moved to Marseille, and his sudden rise in French football will have many affiliated with the Whites holding their head in their hands.

Igor Paixao is exactly what Leeds are missing
First and foremost, Noah Okafor has been excellent for Leeds.
However, he is the only player at Elland Road who has had any real impact in the final third so far this season, while also showcasing his injury troubles.
Given how heavily Paixao was linked with Leeds in the summer, many assumed there would be another attacking arrival, though that was not the case.
Fast forward to today, and the 25-year-old has six goal contributions for the Ligue 1 giants in eight appearances, six of which have arrived in his last four games.
Paixao scored in Marseille’s 2-1 defeat to Sporting mid-week, and registered two goals and an assist in their 4-0 win against Ajax in their previous Champions League outing.
It was a rumoured £30million fee that Marseille forked out to take him to France, and that is looking like a bargain each time he steps on the pitch.
However, more than anything, it is looking like a massive missed opportunity for Leeds.

How does Noah Okafor compare to Igor Paixao
Okafor scored against Tottenham for Leeds on his last appearance, taking his tally to the season to two.
However, those are the only two goal contributions he has managed since joining the Whites from AC Milan in the summer.
Compared to Paixao’s six, it really is night and day.

Of course, some context is needed.
Okafor joined a side destined for a relegation battle, whereas Paixao joined Marseille, who are currently dominating Ligue 1 with six wins from their first eight games.
That plays a massive part when it comes to players adapting to their new league and club.
With that said, it’s evident that Leeds missed out on a chance to boost their attacking threat substantially.
