Leeds United receive major boost in their bid to keep Jack Harrison

Leeds United have received a major boost in their bid to keep winger Jack Harrison at the club this summer, according to the Sun.

The 25-year-old has been attracting interest from Newcastle United who are eager to bolster their attacking department ahead of the next campaign.

According to the latest report, the Magpies are now running out of patience in their pursuit of Harrison after the Whites rejected their opening bid.

The report further stated that the Toon Army are now considering making a move for Burnley young winger Dwight McNeil instead.

Creative Spark

The recent development would’ve been music to the ears of Leeds fans who would be extremely concerned about losing another key player in the same transfer window where they’ve already lost Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha to Manchester City and Barcelona.

In the last season when things were extremely difficult for the Whites, Harrison was one of the few shining lights for the club as he produced some remarkable performances, including the last matchday’s important goal against Brentford which helped the side in securing their place in the Premier League for at least another season.

In 38 matches across all competitions for the club in the previous campaign, the Stoke-on-Trent winger scored 10 goals and provided a couple of assists.

In total, Harrison, who joined Leeds first on loan from Manchester City in the summer of 2018 and later made his move permanent in the summer of 2021, has represented his current club in 166 matches across all competitions where he has managed to score 28 goals and provided 22 assists in the process [Transfermarkt].
