Leeds United predicted XI v Millwall: Patrick Bamford call made, big name left out
Daniel Farke could leave Jayden Bogle out of his Leeds United starting XI to face Millwall in the Championship on Wednesday.
The Whites will travel to The Den [6 November] fresh off a resounding 3-0 win against Plymouth over the weekend with Dan James, Joel Piroe and Brenden Aaronson among the goals at Elland Road.
Bogle missed the match on Saturday [2 November] through suspension but, with Sam Byram now excelling in starts in both full-back positions for Leeds, the 24-year-old could find himself in the dugout on Wednesday as Farke potentially goes with an unchanged lineup.
Daniel Farke to make no changes to Leeds United lineup v Millwall
Illan Meslier should assume his role between the sticks at Leeds, having impressed in recent weeks since his calamitous error in the 2-2 draw against Sunderland.
As the saying goes, “if it’s not broken don’t fix it”, so Byram should be allowed to continue his resurgence at The Den after another impressive showing against Plymouth, with Bogle set to be named on the bench.
Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk should continue their partnership at centre-back but will need to continue their impressive form on Wednesday, with Max Wober back in the matchday squad following his injury absence. Junior Firpo, meanwhile, will be expected to complete the backline at left-back.
Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell have laid down a statement of intent at Elland Road in the absence of Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev, and the pair will be expected to maintain the standards set against Millwall, while Josuha Guilavogui is set to wait a while longer for his full Leeds bow.

Dan James has been sensational since his return from injury and scored an “outstanding” goal to open the scoring at Elland Road, meaning he should be a shoo-in to start again.
Brenden Aaronson should also continue in the starting lineup,. The midfielder is proving his worth under Farke after a year away from West Yorkshire last season and should be one of the first names on the team sheet in the number 10 role.
Wilfried Gnonto should complete the front line. The Italian has been ever-present in the Whites’ side this season.
Joel Piroe will be expected to lead the line again. The Dutchman was back among the goals at Elland Road on the weekend as he proves to be a midfielder’s “dream” and he will be expected to be selected over Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford to face Millwall.
