Leeds United outperform Barcelona as new £118m transfer reveal emerges
The 49ers Enterprises didn’t shy away from spending money in the summer transfer window to improve Leeds United’s squad.
Leeds splashed over £100m on signings in the summer to help aid Daniel Farke in the Whites’ bid to stay in the Premier League.
Farke seemed to be heading for the sack while dragging Leeds down into the relegation zone, but after recent results, the German has turned things around.
The personnel that Leeds brought in divided opinion, but after the latest reveal that has the Whites in front of Barcelona, not many can deny the 49ers their credit.

Leeds have bigger 2025 rise in squad value than Barcelona
Leeds will need to add more signings if they are to avoid the drop this season, as Farke will no doubt have a list of targets for January, likely to be loans.
At first, it may have seemed like summer acquisitions were a big letdown, but after the latest resurgence in form, Leeds’ investments are paying off.
- Leeds spent £18million on Noah Okafor
- They also signed Anton Stach for £17.3million
- Jaka Bijol and Lucas Perri together cost the Whites over £30million
According to Transfermarkt on Instagram, Leeds’ squad market value has risen by €136million this year, which equates to £118.3million.
This puts the Whites in eighth place in the world rankings and at a financial advantage over the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Tottenham.
But the key point to take from this statistic is that market value can either increase or decrease based on player performances.
New Leeds reveal proves 49ers got summer spending bang on
Although the Peacocks signed off multiple players on multi-million deals, they also signed Dominic Calvert-Lewin for free.
Calvert-Lewin has been immense for Leeds, and according to Transfermarkt, the striker is now worth just over £13million, which would be pure profit for the 49ers if they decided to sell their star.
Although the Englishman won’t be sold, it’s an example of how well the 49ers have worked in what has been a tricky financial time for Leeds, despite the boost of funds from promotion.
The Whites are by no fluke ahead of Barcelona in this metric, as it’s down to pure genius from internal figures at LS11.
The longer that Leeds’ current success goes on, the more the £118.3m value will soar.
