Leeds United on course to do something in Premier League they’ve never done before
Leeds United are predicted to avoid relegation by the skin of their teeth this season.
Despite what seemed like a positive start to the season for Leeds, concerns are starting to creep back in at Elland Road after a poor run of form.
Leeds’ latest 3-0 defeat to Brighton means that the Whites have won just one of their last five, with a defeat to Burnley the most damaging result in that time.
However, despite their drop in form, Daniel Farke looks set to achieve something at Leeds, and they have surprisingly never done it before.

Supercomputer predicts Leeds to avoid relegation
After 10 games, the Whites sit four points clear of the relegation zone, and history suggests that another Premier League season beckons.
Whenever a newly-promoted side has hit 11 points by this time, they have gone on to secure survival, which is certainly an omen in favour of the Whites.
Not only that, but Opta’s supercomputer has predicted Leeds to survive in the Premier League with a total points tally of 37.
Nottingham Forest are expected to occupy the final relegation spot, with Burnley and Leeds both narrowly escaping the drop.

Should that be the case, it would see the Whites finish 16th in the top flight, which is something they have never done before.
Last time Leeds avoided the drop, they finished 17th, with 38 points.
Leeds’ expected position speaks volumes about Elland Road concern
Not only does Opta predict Leeds to avoid relegation, but their data suggests that the Whites should be significantly higher up the table.
Taking into account xG for and against, as well as other metrics, Leeds are expected to be in ninth place after 10 games, with a points tally of 14.
Their xG so far this season is 12.4, which is three less than they have actually managed.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s struggles in front of goal for Leeds have certainly played a part in that.
As for xG against, they are also underperforming this by five.
Attacking quality is certainly going to be needed in January if Leeds are to live up to statistical expectations.
