Leeds United news as financial accounts now overdue on Companies House

Leeds United have once again allowed the release of their accounts to go overdue with Companies House still waiting for the filed paperwork in 2023.

The Whites have a history of this, filing their last year’s accounts on April 06, despite the deadline sitting at March 31 as it always has.

Things are up in the air in the Elland Road boardroom right now, with Andrea Radrizzani still in charge, but the 49ers Enterprises waiting in the wings to take over.

It is unknown whether trouble can come out of this, but given the same happened last year, it is unlikely.

The Premier League and relevant parties may have already seen the required accounts, it may just be that they haven’t been published to the public as of yet.

Scrutiny comes along with the accounts, as everyone knows, with a deep delve into the ongoing behind-the-scenes finances in such a money-driven world.

Punishment?

Hopefully, nothing has gone wrong here.

When it comes to finances and the world of regulations within football, it can be easy to pick up charges and potentially punishment further down the line.

Just look at Everton, they posted their fifth successive loss last week on the deadline, days after being referred for potential breaches of Profit and Sustainability regulations.

Leeds were one of the clubs to write to the Premier League and complain about Everton last season as they battled relegation, so having their own accounts in order would certainly help.

This is certainly something to watch as the days go on, and given last year’s submission, it may go on for another couple of days with a nervous wait ahead.
