Leeds United: Newcastle could have given up on Jack Harrison, line up new target
Newcastle are considering a move for Leicester City’s Harvey Barnes and that could well turn their attention away from Leeds United winger Jack Harrison.
It was revealed by 90min (21 July) that Leeds had rejected a £25million approach for the 25-year-old.
However, the Magpies could well have turned their attention elsewhere with The Sun reporting on Saturday 23 July that they are targeting a move for Barnes, with Leicester looking for £50million for the 24-year-old.

This news could well be welcomed by Leeds with Newcastle a real threat to their hopes of keeping Harrison at Elland Road.
Losing Harrison would be a real blow, with the winger’s eight goals in the 2021/22 Premier League season crucial in helping the Whites avoid the drop.
He would certainly be viewed as a cheaper option for Newcastle to pursue should they make the United man their main priority.
Losing the English winger now would not be helpful for Jesse Marsch after Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha departed earlier in the summer.
If the North East side did make a move for Harrison it is crucial that the American is given the chance to replace the winger.
Leeds cannot afford for three of their most influential players to leave Elland Road this summer, despite having an excellent transfer window.

The club has been very active all summer which is good to see, but ultimately the additions Victor Orta has made aren’t proven in the Premier League like Harrison.
The Leeds boss will know that he will get a good goal return out of the 25-year-old next season and he should be doing everything he can to keep him at the club.
But for now, Newcastle’s interest in Barnes is certainly a boost for the Whites.
In other Leeds United news, Jesse Marsch is extremely keen on bringing an ‘exceptional’ striker to Elland Road this summer and has learnt his transfer valuation.
