Leeds United new manager: Carlos Corberan to turn tide amid Daniel Farke sack news

Daniel Farke is in serious trouble at Leeds United.

Leeds are sleepwalking towards the relegation zone in the Premier League, with chances of dropping into the Championship currently growing by the week.

Leeds lost 3-1 at Nottingham Forest on Sunday, leaving them one point and two places above the bottom three as a promising start slips away.

Carlos Corberan could have the answers at Elland Road, and the perfect opportunity may be about to appear for the 49ers Enterprises.

Either way, Farke can no longer hide from the sack speculation.

Carlos Corberan to replace Daniel Farke?

After shining at a struggling West Brom, Corberan left last Christmas to take on the challenging task of Valencia, transforming them immediately.

Valencia signed Largie Ramazani on loan from Leeds in the summer, but he hasn’t been able to help the Spaniard continue that form, with La Liga struggles starting.

West Brom News have relayed news from Spain that Corberan is under increasing pressure himself, but that could open the door for his return to Leeds.

The 42-year-old learned everything he knows from Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road, and could relish the opportunity to return to West Yorkshire.

Before signing a new contract at The Hawthorns during his spell there, he was even linked with the Leeds job then, which didn’t end up happening.

How did Carlos Corberan do in England?

Starting at Huddersfield, Corberan took them all the way to the play-off final in his second season, and was a dodgy VAR call away from Premier League promotion.

Our West Yorkshire rivals quickly crashed and burned after the Spaniard moved on, currently sitting in League One despite having big money to spend at that level.

Corberan then went to West Brom, also taking them to the play-offs.

Given they lost to Southampton, who would beat Leeds in the play-off final at Wembley, it was nothing to be embarrassed about, ending with way more wins than losses in England.

With Aston Villa, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool in the next four, Leeds could soon be turning up to Corberan’s door asking to be saved.

Will he take it? Corberan has shown he can turn the tide immediately at his clubs and the next step is doing that in the Premier League with Leeds.
