Leeds United must keep Pascal Struijk as new transfer update drops from Italy
Since arriving at Leeds United from Ajax as an 18-year-old back in 2018, Pascal Struijk has slowly but surely made himself a first-team regular.
His time on the pitch last term was hindered by a season-ending injury which he sustained in December.
Struijk has been a stellar acquisition and has played 121 games and has managed to contribute to 10 goals altogether.
Although his future at Elland Road has never been brought into question, the defender has recently been linked with a move to Serie A side Torino [Gianluca Di Marzio, 5 July].
Why Leeds United need to keep Pascal Struijk within their ranks
Struijk’s departure is one that Leeds would likely want to avoid, especially after the sale of Archie Gray to Tottenham.
Although Ethan Ampadu managed to cover for the Netherlands star whilst he was sidelined on numerous occasions, the Welshman is most effective in a defensive-midfield role.
At the start of the 2023/24 season, the partnership that managed to form between Joe Rodon and Struijk was arguably one of the best in the league.
In addition, the former Ajax man can offer some versatility as he can also be deployed at left-back if and when needed.

And, the fact that the defender is still just 24 years old bodes well for the Whites as, if he manages to return from injury as the same player he was, there’s no end to his potential.
Should Struijk develop further, this will no doubt increase his price and bring in more of a profit for Leeds in the future.
Hence, why, at this moment in time, the club would be in the wrong to sell him.
