Leeds United misery extended by shocking Brighton reveal

Leeds United historically struggle against Brighton.

It was no different on Saturday, with Leeds suffering a 3-0 defeat away to Brighton, in a game that showcased a lot of their weaknesses.

Gabriel Gudmundsson had a day to forget, though he certainly wasn’t the only one as the Whites fell to their fifth defeat of the season.

If the result and display wasnt enough of a concern for Leeds, the latest stat reveal certainly will be, and it doesn’t bode well for future trips to the Amex.

Leeds failed to score past Brighton, again

Leeds have generally struggled in front of goal quite often this season, and it was no different against the Seagulls on Saturday.

The Whites only managed two shots on target over the course of the game, both of which weren’t until the last few minutes when Bart Verburggen was forced into a simple double save.

It also wasn’t just a one-off, with it revealed that Saturday’s 3-0 defeat was the eighth time in a row that Leeds have failed to score away to Brighton.

Daniel Farke has never beaten Brighton before, and given the lack of control his side had on Saturday, his record against them is hardly surprising.

Things are only going to get harder for Leeds

Brighton away is arguably one of the easiest fixtures Leeds will have between now and mid-December, showcasing just how cruel the festive period could prove to be.

After an away trip to Forest, the Whites will face Villa, Man City, Chelsea and then Liverpool in succession.

Before ending the year with an away trip to high-flying Sunderland.

With 11 points from 10 games, it has been a respectable start to the season for Leeds, but that credit can quickly get wiped if points aren’t accumulated in the next few weeks, with Leeds having picked up just four points from their last five games.
