Leeds United learn final Harry Wilson fate as Fulham decision made

Leeds have been linked with a move to sign Harry Wilson from Fulham.

Leeds United announced the signing of Facundo Buonanotte on Thursday, with the winger joining on loan from Brighton for the remainder of the campaign.

However, it remains to be seen if he is the only attacking signing made at Elland Road, with Fulham’s Wilson also linked with Leeds.

The Welsh international has been in excellent form for the Cottagers throughout the campaign and was linked with the Whites in the summer.

With that interest still present, Marco Silva has been forced to respond to speculation, sending a clear message to Leeds.

Daniel Farke may need to look elsewhere for attacking arrivals

Wilson would be a ridiculous signing for Leeds, and given the fact that he has just six months left on his contract at Craven Cottage, it’s not an overtly ambitious move either.

The 28-year-old has seven goals and four assists for Fulham in the Premier League this season, which is already his best return in the top flight in his career.

With that said, his importance to Fulham is obvious, with Marco Silva ruling out any possibility of him moving on in January.

Via Sky Sports, he said: “To clarify, because I said that we have to enjoy him for one month, two months, or maybe another one or two years if we can renew with him, but completely zero chance of him leaving (in January).

“Not because we have an offer – I know there is starting to be some noise about the possibility of him leaving in this window – no chance, zero chance.”

Do Leeds need to sign another winger?

Ultimately, this depends on Farke’s plans for the remainder of the campaign.

Leeds have been in excellent form as of late, with a lot of that success coming down to their change of system, which sees the Whites play without wingers.

If that were to go on, then the need for an additional once is minimal.

However, if Leeds were to revert to a back four, there is a case to be made for another wide player being a necessity.

Noah Okafor and Buonanotte are likely to be the two main wingers, with Willy Gnonto and Dan James behind them

In reality, it would require one of the aforementioned three to leave before the Whites considered another addition in that area.
