Leeds United in position to sign Daniel Jebbison after contract news emerges
Leeds United fans are likely readying themselves for a summer of change after their failure to gain promotion to the Premier League.
Daniel Farke’s men were one of the favourites to be promoted from the Championship last season but fell just short after they lost to Southampton in the play-off final.
It has led to a period of transfer uncertainty at Elland Road, with mixed reports on what was needed to ensure they comply with Profit and Sustainability rules by 30 June.
Indeed, the likes of Jack Harrison and Marc Roca have both departed Elland Road [Fabrizio Romano, 28 June] and Archie Gray still being heavily linked with an exit to Tottenham (the Guardian, 30 June).
Conversely, the West Yorkshire outfit are yet to bring anybody in but one player they could look at this summer is Daniel Jebbison.
The Sheffield United striker was linked to the club by Graham Smyth on 31 May but a move was still up in the air as the Canada-born attacker’s future wasn’t yet decided.
It has, however, become clearer as he has reportedly chosen to leave Bramall Lane for pastures new upon the expiry of his contract [Sky Sports, 30 June].
This has seemingly opened a door for Farke to go in for his former target as any potential moves would require no transfer fee.
Why Daniel Jebbison would be a stellar coup for Leeds United
With question marks over the futures of players such as Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto this summer, Farke could be in need of a major attacking rebuild this summer.
Jebbison could be an ideal addition to the team as he is a good finisher and has great pace.
He could become Leeds’ new focal point for their attack and perhaps even be an understudy for stalwart, Patrick Bamford.
The Canada international is only 20 years old and, despite still being something of a raw talent, with Farke’s guidance – there’s no reason why he couldn’t become a top player.

Despite his natural role being striker, Jebbison has been deployed in left wing on occasion and could offer versatility to Leeds’ squad.
In addition, his experience, particularly in the Premier League is fairly vast despite still being in the early stages of his career.
This will definitely be one to watch over the course of the summer transfer window.
In other Leeds news, the Whites have been offered a £5m+ deal from a European for a defender.
