Leeds United in £100m boost after recent Elland Road developments

Leeds United’s finances are set to be boosted massively after they achieved promotion back to the Premier League.

Daniel Farke led Leeds United to promotion at the second time of asking, while also clinching the Championship title in dramatic fashion on the final day of the season.

Elland Road celebrations have been wild over the last few days, but work will already be underway behind the scenes as the Whites prepare for life back in the Premier League.

Recruitment is going to be crucial for Leeds, and they will receive a huge boost in the near future in regard to the financial situation after promotion.

Premier League finances are going to be huge for Leeds

After being relegated from the Premier League two years ago, Leeds will already be fairly steady as a result of the parachute payments, but now that promotion has been achieved, they are in line for a rather healthy windfall, and Farke deserves credit for his role in that.

When taking into account TV money and further commercial contracts and deals, Leeds will be guaranteed “£100million at least” because of the way the Premier League structures its finances [Mackem News].

Leeds have had an excellent season.

With added deals and sponsorships, Leeds could end up receiving up to £120m for their Premier League status, and that, matched with inevitable player sales, will see the books like very healthy at Elland Road.

Of course, investment will be needed to survive in the top flight, and these finances will give the Whites that extra room for manoeuvrability when it comes to spending.

Leeds need to recruit smartly this summer

Several players have already been linked with a move to Leeds, and if deals are to happen, they simply need to be the right ones.

Given the gulf in quality between the Premier League and Championship, the Whites will be afforded no margin for error if they want to have any chance of avoiding an immediate drop.

Supporters will undoubtedly continue their celebrations over the coming days and weeks, but those behind the scenes at Elland Road will already be hard at work.
