Leeds United identify ideal Crysencio Summerville replacement as transfer development emerges

Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville has enjoyed a superb start to the season, with the attacker shining under Daniel Farke.

The 22-year-old boasts six goals and four assists from his 11 Championship matches, with two goals and two assists coming in the 4-1 win against Huddersfield Town on Saturday (28 October).

His fine form will be warmly welcomed by Farke and all Whites fans, but at the same time it presents a worry, with speculation emerging regarding his future at the club.

Daniel Farke

Speaking in a video on the Voetbal International website on Tuesday (31 October), Dutch journalist Suleyman Ozturk has predicted a January exit for the exciting winger.

All those connected to the Elland Road club will be hoping that such a move does not take place, but the powers that be in West Yorkshire may be forced into finding a replacement if an offer that is simply too good to turn down does come in for Summerville.

Fortunately, the Whites have reportedly found a ready-made replacement in the form of Fluminense’s Jhon Arias. As per TEAMtalk (31 October), the Whites are among a number of clubs in the race to sign the 26-year-old Colombia international.

The attacker, who can play both out wide and centrally, registered tallies of nine goals and 13 assists in 53 appearances in 2023, helping Fluminense reach the Copa Libertadores final, where they will play against Boca Juniors on Saturday (4 November).

Given the vast interest in his services, it may be a difficult one for Leeds to pull off, but he certainly represents a viable replacement for Summerville should the latter move on.

In other Leeds United news, a manager has shared a “really good” Farke verdict after a “tricky” Elland Road situation.
