Leeds United have to embarrass Championship captain after what he said
Leeds United will be eager to get back to winning ways as they prepare to face Oxford United on Saturday.
Daniel Farke’s side have had a great season so far and find themselves sitting second in the league, three points off top spot.
However, the Whites are struggling to get into a run of wins of late as after two on the bounce, they only took a point against Preston North End last weekend, thanks to a 93rd-minute equaliser.
They prepare to face Oxford United on Saturday [21 December], who only sit above the relegation zone on goal difference, with one goal in it between them and Cardiff City.
It is essential that Leeds win this game comfortably ahead of a busy run of games over the Christmas period.
However, the opposition’s captain Elliot Moore has insisted his side won’t be walked all over as he was quoted in the Herald Series saying: “If people want to write us off, then that’s fine. We’ll go out there with a game plan and we need to stick to it. Every game is a challenge and every game has its own challenges. It’s an experience and a game that I’ve never played there personally, so I look forward to going there and facing a challenge like that.
“They’re a top team. You have to respect them and respect the players they’ve got, but we’re not going to not try and win. We want to come away with something from that game.”
Leeds United have to show Oxford United who’s boss
Although Moore was complimentary about Leeds and aware of the job his side have in front of them on Saturday, it is vital that Farke’s men put on a dominant display that leaves no questions being asked.
It was disappointing for the Whites to drop points against Preston and in the past, they have shown an inability to keep their strong form up until the end of the season.
However, Farke won’t want to take his side to another play-off campaign and instead, a top-two finish and automatic promotion is the aim.

With games coming thick and fast over the coming weeks, this is an opportunity for the West Yorkshire outfit to start as they mean to go on and start a run that could see them pick up some crucial points heading into the New Year.
There is plenty of football to be played this term and the Whites must keep their standards high throughout the campaign if they are to achieve their aims.
