Leeds United have to act fast to deny Brentford signing Rasmus Kristensen
Jesse Marsch is keen to make big improvements to his Leeds United squad after they only just survived the drop on the final day of last season.
The 48-year-old American has already made the first signing of his tenure at Elland Road with RB Salzburg midfielder Brenden Aaronson, also from the opposite side of the pond, but he isn’t done raiding his old club yet.
He now wants to bolster his defence and had identified 24-year-old Rasmus Kristensen as the man for the job despite Luke Ayling being a key figure and Cody Drameh impressing on loan at Cardiff.

Marsch, though, knows exactly what Kristensen can do and how he fits into his ideal style of play which is probably why he’s chasing him.
It isn’t just Leeds who are after the Danish international though as Brentford, whom the Whites beat on the final day to secure their survival, are also in the hunt for his signature [The Sun] in a £10million deal.
Marsch’s connections with the cub and the player would have swung the pendulum in our favour at any other time but Bees manager Thomas Frank is also Danish and could use his international ties to try and complete a deal.

This is where Leeds need to slam their foot on the accelerator and try to get this deal sorted before the London club can get their foot in the door at Salzburg.
It might not be a position where we are desperate for players as previously mentioned but Marsch knows exactly what he wants this summer and if Kristensen is that, then Victor Orta has to deliver for him and make the Dane a Leeds United player for the 2022-23 season and beyond.
In other Leeds United news, Drameh’s time at Cardiff may just give the Whites an edge in the race to sign one of the Bluebirds’ most promising teenage talents.
