Leeds United have three more points locked in already as new kick-off time announced

Leeds United’s clash with Brentford next month has been officially locked in for a new kick-off time.

The Premier League caused anger last month when announcing the game would be in one of three different slots.

Fans of both clubs were understandably annoyed as it was warned as little as 19 days’ notice would be given, depending on various other factors, such as other teams’ games in the EFL Cup and in Europe.

Well it has now been confirmed that the game will kick off at 8pm on 21 March, which can only be good news for Daniel Farke’s men.

Leeds boast remarkable night record under Daniel Farke at Elland Road

While an 8pm kickoff on a Saturday is not going to be universally popular, it will make for a superb atmosphere at Elland Road.

And a late game under the lights at Elland Road can only be a good thing for the Whites.

Indeed, after Leeds’ 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest on Friday, United have now won 19, drawn three and lost none of their 22 evening games under Farke.

Yes, that is 22 matches without defeat, many of those coming in the Premier League.

In fact, Leeds have won five of their seven late games in the Premier League this season – that is defined as 7pm or later – with all five of those wins coming at Elland Road.

No team can better that record in the competition this term.

An inconvenience it may be to have to wait this long for the fixture to be locked in, but it could have been a lot worse.

Leeds’ March schedule taking shape

Leeds only have three matches in March as things stand, although that could change if they progress past Birmingham City in the FA Cup fourth round this coming weekend.

Otherwise, there’ll just be a home clash with Sunderland on Tuesday 3, followed by a trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday 14 and then that clash against Brentford the following weekend.

Then comes the final international break of the season, which will see plenty of Leeds players fly off the various parts of the world.

Farke’s hope will be that Leeds are as far clear of the relegation danger as they currently find themselves, making for a far more relaxing final two months of the campaign.
