Leeds United have free run at £13m Christantus Uche transfer after latest update
Leeds United may have an opportunity to seal a bargain deal for Getafe striker Christantus Uche in the final weeks of the transfer window.
Uche has been linked with a move to Leeds this summer, with the Whites enquiring about his situation at the Estadio Coliseum.
Daniel Farke now has ex-AC Milan forward Noah Okafor at his disposal, but the German manager could arguably do with another quality option in the number nine position.
With not much time left before the end of August, the West Yorkshire outfit could potentially have a chance to reinforce their attack in the coming weeks.

Getafe yet to receive offers for Leeds United target Christantus Uche
Getafe have lowered their expectations from £17million to £13m for Uche’s transfer this summer, according to Eduardo Burgos.
The AS journalist reported on X on 20 August that the 22-year-old’s exit from the LaLiga outfit is on ice for the time being, with no offers received yet.
It’s been claimed that only formal inquiries have been made for the Nigeria international, and talks of a move to Everton have been dismissed.
- Getafe signed Uche for around £430,000 last summer.
- The centre-forward scored four goals and provided six assists in LaLiga last season.
- Due to his versatility, the attacker can play in multiple positions, including the number 10 role.
Leeds were seen as favourites to sign Uche recently, but the situation seems to have cooled down a bit for now.
If the Whites do decide to reignite their interest in the centre-forward, they may have a free run at it due to an apparent lack of movement from other interested parties.
The Nigerian national would undoubtedly be able to contribute in West Yorkshire, having scored and assisted in Getafe’s opening LaLiga game of the 2025/26 campaign against Celta Vigo on 17 August.
Daniel Farke needs Patrick Bamford replacement
Patrick Bamford isn’t in Farke’s plans for this season, leaving the striker with an obvious decision to make regarding his future.
Leeds have already allowed Mateo Joseph to join Mallorca on loan, and the departure of another centre-forward will need to be addressed.
While Dominic Calvert-Lewin has arrived at Elland Road as a free agent, the Englishman’s consistent fitness issues over the years make him unreliable.
It wouldn’t hurt the Whites to have a player like Uche in their ranks, but only time will tell whether 49ers Enterprises will spend their money on him.
