Leeds United handed timely transfer boost as Tyler Adams update emerges

Leeds United finally get their new Championship campaign underway on Sunday (6 August) when they welcome Cardiff City to Elland Road.

Manager Daniel Farke hasn’t had much time to work with his new squad, but there were certainly positive signs in pre-season, with the Whites winning their final two matches against Nottingham Forest and Hearts.

That will be a boost for the German, who has also been handed a massive boost when it comes to the transfer window, with star midfielder Tyler Adams reportedly making a decision on his future at the club.

According to TEAMtalk (3 August), the USA international is “not agitating” for a move away from Elland Road, with the midfielder instead wanting to focus on getting back to full fitness.

Hamstring issues forced him out of the final 12 matches of the most recent Premier League season, which may have just ended differently for Leeds had Adams been on the pitch.

That is perhaps a debate for another day, but for now it seems that he will be on the Elland Road pitch plenty of times this season when his injury issues are behind him.

The Whites have already said goodbye to a long list of senior players this summer, with the likes of Robin Koch, Rasmus Kristensen, Max Wober, Marc Roca and Brenden Aaronson all leaving Elland Road, albeit on a temporary basis.

It means the West Yorkshire outfit really cannot afford to lose any more, particularly given how they have only brought in Ethan Ampadu and Karl Darlow.
