Leeds United: Glen Kamara provides Daniel Farke with relief as injury update emerges
Daniel Farke will have been watching through his fingers during the international break, with several of his Leeds United stars in action for their respective nations.
The German’s nerves will have skyrocketed when Wales and Finland went head-to-head on Thursday 21 March, with Connor Roberts, Joe Rodon, Ethan Ampadu and Dan James all in Rob Page’s squad.
Glen Kamara was another competing for a spot at Euro 2024 but fell short to Wales in the playoff semi-final before Poland thwarted the victors on Tuesday 26 March.

The midfielder has been relatively underappreciated for all the hard work he does under Farke, with many of his performances going under the radar at Elland Road.
However, Kamara is just as important as the rest of the squad, partnering up with Ilia Gruev to create a formidable middle-of-the-park duo.
Due to Finland being unable to progress in the Euro 2024 playoff matches, their second competitive match turned into a friendly against Estonia, who lost out to Poland.
With no point risking the fitness of some of the players, and an opportunity to give others a chance, the Leeds man was benched for the whole 90 minutes, which will be a huge boost for Farke as the Whites prepare for an all-important Championship clash against Watford on Friday 29 March.
Daniel Farke provides injury news on Leeds quartet
The international break leaves players susceptible to injuries, sometimes without the proper facilities to take care of them away from their club.
Paraphrasing from Farke’s pre-match press conference on Wednesday (27 March), Phil Hay wrote: “None of Roberts, Gnonto or Gruev ruled out of Friday at this stage.
And when questioned about Georginio Rutter’s potential involvement, Farke said: “I’m carefully optimistic that he can be in the squad.”
Of course, Rutter’s return from surgery will be highly anticipated, with the Frenchman boasting seven goals and 18 assists in all competitions, the whole squad is integral to the main target.
With just eight matches of the Championship remaining, Leeds have every chance of lifting the league title, having overtaken Leicester City at the top of the table with a 2-0 win over Millwall on Sunday 17 March.
The Foxes do have a game in hand, having been busy with a 3-2 thriller against Chelsea in the FA Cup, and with Ipswich Town’s involvement, the title, and Premier League promotion, are likely to go down to the wire.
In other Leeds United news, a Whites offer for Matt O’Riley is on the cards as a Celtic transfer stance emerges.
