Leeds United get priorities straight as Angus Kinnear shares new club ‘focus’

Leeds United had a difficult season last time out, with the Whites relegated from the Premier League in miserable fashion.

The summer transfer window then saw a long list of important players leave Elland Road, either temporarily or for good.

But the current Whites scene is starting to look pretty, with manager Daniel Farke working hard to secure immediate promotion back to the top flight.

And the man in the dugout has been given a huge boost by the powers that be in West Yorkshire, with CEO Angus Kinnear delivering a positive update regarding the club’s priorities at the most recent Leeds United Supporter Advisory Board (SAB), as per the official club website (10 October).

According to the minutes of the SAB meeting: “Angus Kinnear gave the club update. The takeover of the 49ers is complete. Will be seeing some changes in the coming weeks, especially around stadium development. From a governance perspective, in a good place at the moment with a new board established. Positive impact in terms of funding, including stadium and training ground upgrades, and the transfer window.

“The focus for the club now is on ensuring the environment at the training ground for the players is the best it can be. Strength and conditioning are important areas being focused on, as well as investing in the medical team, and looking at nutrition, game preparation and travel to games.”

The changes away from Farke and his players are, of course, very important to the long-term picture, while those changes directly concerning the squad will be of huge importance in the short-term.

Issues such as strength and conditioning, nutrition and medical team investment prove that Leeds have certainly got their priorities straight, with such areas requiring plenty of consideration given how long and arduous the Championship campaign is.

Farke may be used to a 46-game season, but a lot of his players – young and old – won’t be, so they will welcome any additional help with open arms.
