Leeds United flop Kiko Casilla suffers nightmare in Elche v Atletico Madrid
Kiko Casilla showed exactly why Leeds United loaned out the goalkeeper on Sunday after he suffered a nightmare in goals for Elche in La Liga.
Atletico Madrid went ahead through Angel Correa in the 39th minute after an absolute howler from the on-loan 34-year-old.
After a ball was played over the top of the Elche defence, Casilla came rushing out to the edge of his penalty area.

He then met Correa on the edge of the box and instead of going in with his hands to either grab the ball or punch it away, he went to kick it with his right foot.
Casilla then proceeded to kick thin air, allowing Correa to score one of the simplest goals of his career.
You can watch a video clip of the howler below.
Leeds have conceded seven goals in their first two Premier League matches – more than any other club in the top-flight.
But even if Illan Meslier conceded more goals than any other goalkeeper in English football this season, we’d still rather have the young Frenchman than the calamitous Spaniard.
Casilla kept a clean sheet in his Elche debut last week when they drew 0-0 with Athletic Bilbao.
However, it was only a matter of time before the ex-Real Madrid shot-stopper handed the opposition a golden chance to score.
We saw it time after time while he played in goals for Leeds, making Casilla the undisputed worst signing of Marcelo Bielsa’s reign in charge at Elland Road.
We’re glad he’s not doing this for Leeds any more but it’s just a shame that he wasn’t shipped out on a permanent basis.
Hopefully, that will happen next year.
But if Casilla keeps mucking up the way he did for Elche on Sunday, it’s unlikely there’ll be many takers for the error-prone Spaniard.
In other Leeds United news, Bielsa was spotted with this Premier League manager, who’s shared what they were talking about.
