Leeds United fans will love what Tony Pulis says about Elland Road amid relegation battle

Daniel Farke has a massive task on his hands at Leeds United to avoid Premier League relegation this season.

The Whites have shown a resurgence in recent matches, completing a brilliant comeback against Liverpool at Elland Road, scoring in the final minutes of the 3-3 draw.

Paraag Marathe will surely have to hold off on sacking Farke if that was something the West Yorkshire outfit were thinking about a few weeks ago.

The German manager’s most important goal is surviving the drop in the current campaign, and their one-point-per-game record may be enough to do so, with home fans potentially playing a significant role in achieving success.

Leeds United Premier League survival to depend on home form

Leeds’ home form may determine their future in the Premier League, Tony Pulis says.

The former Stoke City manager believes the Whites’ prospects this season depend on how well they do at Elland Road.

Pulis’ verdict will certainly be good news and something the supporters in LS11 will love, considering the West Yorkshire outfit are ranked 19th when it comes to their away form in the Premier League.

Speaking on The Manager podcast on 9 December, the Welshman said: “Everything for me for Leeds, everything is determined by what they do at Elland Road. I just think Elland Road… the supporters make it such a tough place to go, and the players have to play to the crowd, and they have to be in people’s faces.”

Pulis added: “And the last couple of games, I think they’ve really been up for the challenge, not just playing football, but the challenge. You won’t get a more passionate crowd than the crowd at Elland Road, and their results and future will depend on what they do at Elland Road, not away, but what they do at Elland Road.”

Farke’s tactical changes against Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool have given fans hope that he can lead the Peacocks through a challenging period.

Elland Road record ranked in Premier League

Farke deserves all the credit for the upturn in form at Elland Road, with the German manager willing to make the necessary changes and be proactive in games.

Of the eight games Leeds have played at home, they have secured 12 points and are ranked 13th, which is better than Chelsea and Tottenham’s prospects at their respective stadiums.

Leeds’ home and away Premier League record this season

Arsenal and Sunderland are the only two teams unbeaten at home this season, and it isn’t surprising to see where they are in the league table.

While the Whites can definitely improve their away results, Elland Road is where their future in the Premier League will likely be determined.
