Leeds United fans will love full circle moment as Pablo Hernandez could get Victor Orta sacked

There is no love lost at Elland Road for Victor Orta, and Leeds fans will love to see the latest developments coming out of Spain.

The former director of football’s reputation on LS11 is tarnished, as he exited the club with Leeds in an awful position back in 2023.

Following the dismissal of Marcelo Bielsa, Orta was blamed for poor managerial appointments and lacklustre signings, as he took greater control of the decision-making at the Premier League club.

One of Orta’s worst decisions was handing out loan clauses in the event of relegation. This meant that the players could force a loan move rather than allow the club to recoup money in 2022-2023.

The Spaniard exited before that summer, leaving the Whites to deal with the mess he left.

Overall, Orta will not be remembered well by Leeds supporters, and they could now appreciate what former star Pablo Hernandez has just done.

Pablo Hernandez deals brutal blow to Victor Orta

In contrast to Orta, Hernandez is a much-loved figure around LS11, with the player being a crucial member of the squad as the Whites returned to the Premier League back in 2020.

The Spaniard played 175 times for Leeds, scoring 36 times and assisting on a further 41 occasions throughout his time at Elland Road.

Since leaving the club in 2021, Hernandez went on to join boyhood club CD Castellon before retiring from playing in 2023.

The former Leeds man has now entered the management side of the game, taking over at the same club he ended his career at.

Hernandez also admitted his dream to manage Leeds at some point during this part of his career in football.

He is doing an excellent job, with Castellon currently sitting in first place, with eyes set on getting into La Liga, and his recent win will certainly bring a smile to Leeds fans’ faces.

On Sunday, Hernandez’s Castellon side took on Real Valladolid, where Orta now resides as sporting director.

The former Leeds midfielder handed a 4-0 loss to Valladolid, prompting supporters to call for Orta to be sacked, with footage being shared on social media.

It appears that the former Leeds executive continues to be an unpopular figure at clubs he goes to, and his job is already in danger months after arriving at Valladolid, with fans demanding he leave already.

Hernandez is looking like a future Leeds manager

Daniel Farke is doing an excellent job this season, when at times it looked like his job was under threat.

The German looks on course to steer the Peacocks firmly out of the relegation zone, but at some point in the future, the manager and club will part ways.

When this becomes the case, Hernandez will no doubt be linked to the Elland Road club based on his previous history in England.

Right now, he is proving himself to be a top manager. While his reputation at Elland Road would make him a popular appointment, Leeds fans will appreciate Hernandez’s style, which is akin to Bielsa’s.

However, the idea of a new manager is something that should be parked away, as Farke is becoming an enigmatic figure himself at Leeds.

For now, Orta may be the one facing the sack.
