Leeds United fans will love Daniel Farke reaction to news that dropped on Friday

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke had some welcome and richly deserved news on Friday (8 December).

The popular German was named as the Championship’s Manager of the Month for November after Leeds took 10 points from a possible 12, their only blip a draw at Rotherham United.

A 3-2 victory over Middlesbrough to start December has left Leeds third in the table and seven points behind second-place Ipswich, and the award for Farke is just another thing to celebrate amid a feelgood factor at Elland Road.

But Farke’s reaction to the prize, reported on X by TEAMtalk editor James Marshment (8 December), is what Leeds supporters will undoubtedly really love.

“Yes, you play a little part as a manager, but even more the coaching staff, the players, our supporters, our key people,” Farke said.

It is the absolutely perfect response. What you want from the manager is someone who leads from the front but really acknowledges the collective effort of everyone involved.

What it shows is a willingness to celebrate the sum of all the parts and not revel too much on individual accolades, because while Farke deserves the acknowledgement it is far more important that everyone at Leeds feels appreciated.

The hope is, obviously, that Farke continues to rack up the individual accolades because that will mean Leeds are impressing in the Championship and working towards the ultimate goal of promotion back to the Premier League.

But even if he does, don’t expect Farke to be revelling too much on individual accolades, he will continue to talk up the importance of the team effort.

It is exactly how it should be and you feel Leeds supporters will absolutely love what Farke said about his award.

In other Leeds United news, four players have been ruled out against Blackburn Rovers.
